At Serenity, we view the practice of yoga as a means to re-establish harmony and balance in your life. The primary focus is integration with your spirit, rather than perfection in the physical body.
The meaning of the word "yoga" is union. The purpose of the practice of yoga is to experience unity: the union of mind, body, heart, and soul. Much of human suffering is a direct result of stress. The conflicts and disturbances of life create imbalance in our bodies & minds; which prevents us from being relaxed, peaceful, creative and effective. Instead, we become immersed in a storm of internal conflicts though our judgments, expectations, and frustrations. These stress imbalances can manifest in us in the form of disease, pain, and self destructive behavior or habits.
At Serenity Yoga, each student is guided through yogic practices and techniques designed to release struggle, and to help them understand their inner perfection, peace, and deep stillness.
